Hello all,
Over the holidays can you make sure you have done:
• Annotation of front covers(3), Contents pages(3), double page spreads (3).
• Detailed case study on a music magazine of your genre and read thoroughly. Use the following headings:
o Background and ownership.
o Content and approach to music. (What genre of music are they aiming at? What is the reader profile? What is the style of the magazine?)
o Editorial content: comment from the magazine editor/owner and reader interaction.
o Analysis of double page spreads – to include layout and language (3)
o Promoting the industry and other products.(What else do they offer/advertise? (Eg Kerrang with its convergence of many media opportunities)
You should complete your blog with an analysis of what you think the future for music magazines and print publishing in general is(the industry is in a lot of trouble due to the credit crunch and the increasing availability of digital technologies and on line content?).
Also complete:
Flat plans, sketches/mock-ups(min. x 2), photo shoots, interviews, writing copy. You should also create a Reader profile for your magazine, questionnaire or focus group feedback on initial ideas for cover, colours, fonts, title, contents.
Practise on Photoshop (Remember to use the photoshop sessions after school with Mrs blessett)
Make use of the holidays and daylight to set up photo shoots and get your initial ideas for copy written.
Merry Christmas! :)

Are you up to date?
Evening all,
Just a quick message to make sure you are all keeping up to date. Remember to post your photograph practice as next week we will be working on construction examples (basically evidencing how you manipulated your photo from original to finished image.
I will post another checklist up after Monday's lesson so make sure you have 'Y's next to your name and get commenting on other students blog to give them constructive feedback on their work so far.

Homework for Friday 9th October.
Your challenge should you choose to accept it (actually you don't have a choice!) is to take pictures over the weekend of images you would like to use in your student magazine. You need to bring these photos into the lesson on Monday and make sure you have the wires/cables to upload the images to the Macs.
In Monday's lesson, you will be manipulating these images and transfering them to Pages. By Friday's lesson you should have produced a mock up of your prelimenary task-the front cover and contents page of a new student magazine.
Have fun and keep working hard,
Ms R

Deadline fast approaching!
A quick reminder that all work is to be handed in Friday 13th March. This is a final deadline with absolutely no exceptions. Your attendance at all lessons is compulsory and necessary to complete this coursework with success!
I have said before that V5 is open on Tuesday lunchtime and afterschool on 3rd March and 10th March. A very disappointing turnout today-only 5 of you worked at lunchtime and no-one stayed after school.
I expect a full turnout next week.

Media Terminology
Morning all,
Hopefully you have been busy scribbling away on your blogs.
Remember you must use your blog to evaluate your progress.
In the evaluation the following questions must be answered:
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? (front cover and contents and double page spread)
3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
4. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Remember you must use Media terminology in your evaluation.

2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? (front cover and contents and double page spread)
3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Deadlines update
http://justintimeproductions.blogspot.com
This is a very good and up to date blog. Have a look and then start working on your own!
As I told you in lesson today, due to the disruption of snow and the macs, you will have an extra month to finish your coursework. Your final deadline is now Friday 13th March. Everything has to be completed by this date.
I want to see everyone's folders this Friday 27th February, both the prelim and main task. You must have completed everything for your main task except photo construction, the final product, and the evaluation.
We will be working on your coursework in lesson time until 10th March, when we will start British TV drama.
Get working!
